Little gems

From left to right: Open circle ring from Magnolia (unavailable so see a similar one here- my cousin Holly Hyams is a fantastic jewllry designer so check out her other designs!), Fire Opal ring, from a little stall in Nottingham (see similar here), Opal sterling silver and gold band ring from Bluemoon gallery, and finally the Sterling silver and gold dot ring also from Bluemoon gallery.

I love seeing photos of peoples bedrooms, especially bloggers. Not because I am creepy but because I think it gives such an insight into who a person really is and what they are like. My room is a box, and I carefully chose everything in it so I had maximum storage, without trying to compromise on the aesthetics! Although I have over 10 ugly plastic boxes with sketchbooks, magazines and other things, they are all hidden away under my bed, and the only things you see are the things I want you to.

One of my many obsessions are rings. Jewellery actually is a problem... I say that with all honestly. I cant stop buying jewellry. I go through fazes of wearing a pendant non stop, like my Daisy's gold heart chakra pendant or a crown one (which I can't find anywhere so here is the kids version-still very cute) that my friend bought me. But I am a sucker for a good bit of high street costume jewellry. Zara and Topshop have to be my favourite places to go to, but when the debit card cannot stretch New look is always a winner. In the past few months whenever I have popped down to my local store I have been surprised in a good way at all the brilliant pieces they have for bargain prices.

Anyway, enough rambling  and back to the rings. With rings I do not compramise. They are all individual to me, all unique in their own way. Don't get me wrong, I own a few rings from the high street, but the majority are made by local jewellery designers or come from abroad. I think every single one has some kind of memory linked to it, and that is what I love most about them. I always get comments about them and asked where I got them (and in a selfish way I love that no one has the same ring as me!) and I feel naked when I am not wearing at least three of them.

On a recent 'date day' to Brighton, while me and my boyfriend were strolling along the sea front he soon found himself being stopped (he is used to it) for me to have a quick peek in a little shop. I left with this shell which I had a sudden urge to buy to display and put my rings in at night or when I don't wear them! What do you think? I couldn't resist once I had bought it, I love the colours you can see in the inside of the shell and I love the fact that it adds something a little natural to my room. The intention is that is comes to my London flat with me, so once I am all settled up there I will take a photo of my room to show you what I have done.... but in the mean time let me know what you think! Have you got any clever ways of storing your jewellery?

In love with Lover

Want. Want. Want.
I follow Rumi Neely's blog Fashion Toast almost on a daily basis and love her style. Cool and relaxed with sort of a boho edge. She wore a black pair of these shorts a while back and I fell in love, and actually found the closest thing possible from Topshop, but when she posted a photo of herself wearing the orange versions I immediately started to think of ways in which I could afford to buy them. At £250, and exclusive at Net a porter it seems almost impossible right now, however there are three possible ways in which I could get my hands on a pair; if I keep selling stuff on eBay my dream can come true or
if any of you readers out there want to treat me, please feel free. Third, and of course most likely is if Lover decide to send me a pair; if you want someone else to blog about your shorts Lover, send them my way!

INSANITY WORKOUT DVD // WEEK 2 & FIT TEST 2

Nike Lunarglide

So, an update on the Insanity workout dvds. Week 2 is complete along with day 15's fit test.
I know this isn't a fitness blog, but it is a lifestyle one and this is going to be part of my life for at least another 40 days!

Week 2 was far less successful as after having my wisdom teeth out under general it took me a fair few days to feel normal again. Monday missed, along with Friday and Saturday so only 3 workouts were completed. I felt very disappointed with this but I have to say, due to only eating soup and liquid food for a week my energy levels were not great and boy did I feel it when I was completing the workouts.
The fit test which we did yesterday proved that even though I had missed three days worth of exercising, I had still make progress. I always set myself unrealistic goals and therefore feel disappointed when I don't end up succeeding like I thought I would and although I have not made as much of an improvement as I hoped or wished for, any improvement is good enough for me right now. And I should feel proud! Lets hope this week is a little more positive, with 6 full workouts completed!

More fashion and beauty posts soon I promise!

Sparkles

So I have utterly failed at keeping up with my fortnightly nails posts. These couple of months have just been crazy as I keep on saying so I will stop there.

I completely forgot to write down what nail polish it was so next time I go I will jot it down and try and let you guys know. It was an OPI nail varnish however, as I cant seem to let myself go for something any different.

I had these done on tuesday and I went for something very unlike me. Barbie pink with sparkle, glitz, glitter, whatever you want to call it. What do you think?

INSANITY WORKOUT DVD // Week 1

So, nothing to do with Fashion, Beauty or anything that I have blogged about before.
My boyfriend recently did his PT training and since then has been thinking of crazy ideas to test and challenge himself for personal benefit as well as to see if it helps him to make 'improvements'.

The first one is Insanity. If you have not heard of it before (I hadn't) the name pretty much describes it...it is INSANE.

Call me stupid but I have been wanting to tone up, get fit, lose weight for a while so being very naive to the idea I said I would do it too.

You workout 6 days a week and Sunday is your rest day. The work outs for the first month last about 40 minutes which include the warm up and cool down. They are non stop, high intensity...I sometimes feel like crying when I do them. I don't think I have ever been so physically pushed. I am still awaiting my dvd's from some dodgey ebayer but if you are looking for a ridiculous way to lose weight or tone up here I think this could be it.

I have decided I will be giving you weekly updates to let you know how it is going. It lasts for 60 days with a recovery week in the middle...

Progress photos will be on the way when I feel like enough progress has been made.
In the meantime do some research and maybe check it out...2kg lost from week 1, so I can't complain so far. The question is, can I keep it up until day 60?

Let us dance in the sun

Sorry it has been a while! I have finally finished work, and have been hunting for a flat and fingers crossed we have found the perfect one. I'm going to be a London girl!

This outfit here was what I like to call a 'throw it all on'. I was in a rush to get my sister to work and into town, surprisingly it kind of works. Going for the chilled boho look I have clashed some prints (nothing new there) and I have to say this is a super comfy chilled little outfit. Perfect for an English summer day where the clouds can pass by every now and then and it is a little to cold for a dress or shorts.

The top and kimono are new in at River Island, they have some great festival pieces in at the moment, and I have teamed them with my rose gold sandals from Topshop and rose gold shades from a random sunglasses stall (too long ago to remember where).
Oh and the necklace. I don't think there is much to say apart from the fact that it is absolutely stunning and I am trying to not wear it with everything.

What do you reckon? Send me your best festival outfit!

Catch you later guys
