Weekend necessities

Necklace-Zara|| Rings-Bluemoon gallery and Magnolia|| Rose gold watch-Michael Kors

Those of you who know me well enough know that I am obsessed with rings. Not just any, but ones with one off, unique designs. I love mixing gold and silver together and went through a phase of falling in love with rings from a local shop near to where I grew up (this became an expensive problem!) They used to sell local designers jewellery and I loved the fact that no one else would have a ring like me.

Here is a little photo of the basics I just can't go anywhere without at the moment.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Let's hope the sun stays..........

BUY IT | New things # 1 | My march must-haves

White bag-New Look|| Nike Internationalist trainers-Very.co.uk|| Blue Bag-Topshop|| Pearl necklace-Zara|| White Jacket-River Island|| Rose Gold pattern knitted jumper-&Other Stories

After my previous post I have decided to mix things up a little bit. This is my version of a haul post. As much as I love reading other peoples and getting clothes envy, I wanted to do something a little different. Me and my flatmates are lucky enough to live on a ground floor flat with a garden all to ourselves but we really have not made the most of it. We have the most beautiful little apple tree close to our kitchen door and so during the lovely weather I decided to make the most of it and photograph my best picks for March.

Yes, as you can see I did hang all of my clothes in this post on my apple tree, and yes my neighbours think I am a loony weirdo but it kept me busy for an hour and became the hi-light of my day; re arranging everything to make sure it was all hanging in the right direction (I know that you are all laughing at the thought).

I have to mention the rose gold jumper from &Other Stories. I religiously follow Vanessa from The Haute Pursuit and she featured many a blog post wearing an Alexander Wang 'Reptillian' jumper. Being a student it is virtually impossible to think I would ever be able to own one myself despite falling totally in love with it, so I began my search for a copy. And there I found myself in the Regent street store of &Other Stories and fell even more in love with this Rose gold jumper. Best buy of 2014....so far.

STYLE IT | How to #6 | Styling culottes

How to style culottes

How to style culottes by ladylippy on Polyvore

Cropped Knit-H&M || Culottes-JW Anderson || White pumps-Alexander Wang || Pink Wallet- Saint Laurent || Water resistant watch- Uniform || Sunglasses- Tactics

I've been thinking lots about my blog recently. I don't know whether it is because I have started to take Twitter far more seriously (follow me on there @saraladylippy) or because I am back at university and realise I need something different and exciting to seperate me from the rest of my competition.

Competition is always healthy. For me its what makes me strive to be the best that I can be; to reach my full potential. Without it I find myself plodding along around about 'average' and that is not doing anyone any favours, especially me. For example, watching blogs that I have followed for a few years transform, grow and get blog makeovers pushes me to make 'Lady Lipstick' even better, so that I can be truly proud to show it off to everyone.

The whole reason that I started this blog was to document things for myself, so that in years to come I can look back at where I began my journey (and probably laugh ALOT). But most importantly I will know that I put my all into everything. I didn't start 'Lady Lipstick' to get 4000 followers (although to have that kind of audience would be incredible) but I did it so that the few of you who click on my blog every day, every week, once a month, can hopefully find something interesting and exciting to look at, and for me if that is the case, in a way, I have succeeded already.

So, asides the emotional chat...lets get back to what I wanted to say. I have decided to mix it up a little. I am in the process of re designing 'Lady Lipstick' with the help of a few people and this will hopefully go live on Sunday- I shall keep you posted. I have also shortened my labels list to make it easier for you guys to follow whats going on here at 'Lady Lipstick'; on the right you will find Fashion, Travel, Photo diary, Style it | How to #...., etc and these will become my main focus when posting.

Keep your eyes peeled, I will be doing a lot more STYLE IT | How to posts, and plan to post my interpretation of Hauls, with a little twist and more of an artistic concept - I hope!

Keep clicking on Lady Lipstick, and thank you to all my lovely readers

I am sure you are all getting bored of seeing Paris fashion week photos all over Instagram and the blogosphere. The process is always so drawn out and it seems like those big bloggers out there just like to make us all jealous by posting thousands of photos of the Eiffel tower, endless Parisian cappuccinos, brightly coloured scrumptious macaroons and sky scraper designer heels. Truth is I should have put these up weeks ago, but as per usual time has flown by and here we are in mid March. Sometimes I do enjoy prolonging posting photos for as long as possible. When revisiting them and editing poorly editing them  it is undeniably a bit of a guilty pleasure to sit there and pretend I am back there. No Sara; you are sat in your living room watching 'The Devil wears Prada' trying to write an essay on the globalisation of fashion due in on Monday. Shit. Thats the reality.
So while I wish all of you a fantastic Saturday evening and Sunday in the sun (hopefully) think of me eyes glued to my laptop trying to get 2000 words to appear!
