The Hayden

Floral cropped jacket-New Look last season(similar here) || White V Neck-Topshop || Hayden Boyfriend jeans-Topshop || Blue bag-Topshop sold out || Black skater slip ons-Topshop

So these photos were taken by Mariana from The Portuguese Pink Pie when I met up with her for a quick shopping session after work and some tapas. We checked out the H&M conscious collection at the store in Oxford Circus and mooched on down to my favourite shop of the moment &Other stories.

This outfit was a pretty quick 'chuck on and run' as that morning I was late for work and saw that it was pretty sunny outside. I bought this jacket last year from New Look of all places and I can safely say I will be wearing it a lot this summer too. I love the floral, pastel print and the shape is super flattering.
The Hayden boyfriend jeans were bought a few months back, and they are great for chucking on for those comfortable days and can be dressed up a bit with a pair of heels.

Sorry for the lack of posting, as you have probably all gathered I am back at uni again and that has taken up more of my time. I do however have some exciting posts in the pipeline including an editorial that I assisted on so stay tuned!

Margarita

So this post is a little bit of a mix. It features a fabulous outfit (if I do say so myself) a pretty great 'hair do' by Topshop Hair Salon, Oxford Circus, and a few pics of Tom (the BF) and Mariana (my gorgeous blogger friend  from The Portuguese Pink Pie and occasional post photographer). I feel like Tom doesn't get mentioned enough on here, so have added a couple of photos for you all so you can put a face to the name. Maybe I should start doing a weekly post called 'What the Boyfriend wore'......

Tom's rugby team finished the season last week and won, so its was an evening at the club and an excuse to celebrate. Me and Mariana made some cocktails which went down a treat, my personal favourite were the margaritas hence the outfit post title.

Anyway, the hair do. I was supposed to be assisting the stylist on a shoot last Saturday but turns out disaster struck and the make up artist never showed up. So instead I made my way from South Kensington for a quick bit of retail therapy and decided to treat myself to a bit of pampering. I have never had my hair blow-dried before unless I have had it cut, and even then I am normally in a rush so just ask for them to dry it quickly. I was so impressed, not only at the speed the gorgeous girls in the salon worked but at the end result. I wanted to write about it on here so that hopefully when you next go for a shopping trip you can check it out. You do however have to book an appointment, and I was only in luck when I turned up that they had a free spot, especially on a Saturday. You can chose from several different looks including a 'Bardot' and there is one for every occasion. I am most certainly booking myself an appointment for my birthday night out in two weeks time.

And as for the outfit!? Well, a last minute 'shove it on' type of thing happened and I am pretty happy with the result. I am loving all things white lately and I know this is going to go on for the rest of the summer if not autumn too.

Happy Easter lovely readers. Thanks for visiting 'Lady Lippy'.

COLLABORATION || Lulu Hayes Illustrations

So back in March I got asked by Lulu Hayes to create some illustrations for her collection and her website. I jumped at the idea. When choosing my course at uni I was so close to picking Fashion Illustration but figured that design would give me more scope and that after finishing my degree I would be able to decide then what avenue I wanted to go down within fashion. See my illustrations on her website, I'd love to know what you think. Its the first time I have worked with someone creatively and to get a finished result which you are both happy with has been a challenging and rewarding experience. It is exciting to know that people will be able to see them online every time they visit the website!

A little bit about Lulu Hayes; she first started officially in 2013, creating her first collection of ready to wear luxury street wear featuring beautiful, vibrant prints. Since then her Paris print t shirt and dress has been seen on Caggie Dunlop, and her clothing is now on sale on ISWAI and from the TUK Store.

Her SS14 collection has even more to offer; more vibrant colours and prints, easy to wear shirts, tops and camis which are perfect for the summer dressed up or with a casual pear of skinny jeans. Please visit the Truimph UK Women in the making to vote for Lulu Hayes (find link under photo) as it would mean the world to her, and I certainly think we are going to see a lot more from her in the coming seasons.

Thank you Lucy for letting me get involved with your fabulous and exciting brand.

Find her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and follow her to keep up to date with the new collection!

Jump start

Waterfall waistcoat- Primark (similar here and here)|| Floral Jumpsuit-Topshop (similar here and here) || Drop necklace-Topshop || Black wooden sandals-Topshop (similar here)

A super summery post. All I need now is a tan. Wishful thinking Sara.
This outfit post features all old season clothes, sorry guys. HOWEVER I have found some very similar items which you can find the links to above. I am such a believer in re using things and not throwing out classics (cue for my friends to laugh themselves senseless). The tailored waterfall waistcoat was a present from my sister in 2011 and we ended up buying it together before my birthday in Primark in Nottingham. The jumpsuit was also bought around the same time in Topshop and has since been warn a lot every summer since. Im not normally a jumpsuit or playsuit kind of person as the body is never long enough and I can never find one that fits right. The fact that this is held in at the waist with a tie makes it the perfect easy going jumpsuit to wear.

What are your feelings on jumpsuits?
