What a girl wants, what a girl needs.....

Yes I have used 1990's song lyrics as my post title but they seemed so perfect.
I have been 'window shopping' on the internet if there is such a thing and I have come to the realisation that jackets and shoes really do make an outfit. You can wear the same pair of jeans, the same skirt, the same old t shirt and once you change the jacket and shoes, WALLA! Something completely new. I am going to include bags and jewellery in this as that gives me the excuse to buy these too.

I am becoming slightly obsessed with anything leopard print, anything orange and anything rose gold or metallic, so I apologise in advance for future outfit posts....they will more than likely include these in them! That is when I manage to steal someone for half an hour or more to take a half decent photo....Until then here is my ultimate High street want list. Feel free to treat me.

I LOVE the simplistic silhouette and the block detail. Yes I know it's coming up to Summer but judging from the weather so far I doubt its going to be a belter. Anyways I can always wear it next winter.

These are delightful. Metallic trend, tick. Barely there straps, tick. Rose gold(my favourite) tick, Show stoppers, tick. I will stop there.
(Available in lime green and black too)

I know this isn't leopard print, orange or metallic. But is is incredibly beautiful. The colour is insane and ticks the pastel trend for this summer. I love the aztec design too. When I get my tan back this is going to look gorgeous.

I have tried these on so many times and have had to draw myself away. They are so lightweight and easy to walk in, the type of heel/wedge that I really could walk in all day long. The are so fun too and would add a little bit of sass to any outfit. I will have them in my wardrobe soon, and I am hoping they will miraculously go into the sale at Topshop. Wishful thinking I think....
(They also do an electric blue pair!)

French Connection Feather Ruth Sleeveless Dress c/o Asos

At £120 its something I will have to save for, but it has already made the window displays of many French Connection stores I have walked past so I know its going to be a sell out. Orange is a definite colour to be seen in this Spring/Summer and thank god because it is my favourite. I can already imagine sitting outside in the sun, beer or glass of vino in hand wearing this teamed with my leopard print shoes from Topshop.

And finally.... I have seen several bloggers wearing Lovelysally leggings for a while now and I cant get this pair out of my head. A real statement piece, they would look great on a night out or with a lose fitted t-shirt for something more casual. They are made from Italian lycra and have a shiny look to them due to the HD  enhanced inkjet technology used to print them. An investment worth making. I suggest you check all of the designs out here as they are all incredible!

Anyway, thats me done for now. Hopefully soon I will be wearing some of these instead of just lusting over them.

Koolest kid in town....

Taylor headphones at shopjeen

These 'Taylor' headphones by FRENDS are now seriously on my want list. After mooching the web for a long time at a ridiculously early hour this morning while trying to sleep I came across these bad boys.
How beautiful.
Available, as far as I am aware in rose gold and white, silver and black and gold and white they are a real statement accessory; while making you look pretty they do a job too. Personally, the Rose gold ones do it for me, and at a casual $199 I think I will be waiting a long while until I own a pair.

All things metallic

I am a serial nail biter and have been since the age of about three. Its such a shame as my sister seems to have strong nails and she is always able to paint them really nicely. About 3 years ago I started to get acrylics done on a 2-3 week basis and it became a bit of an obsession; it stopped me from biting my nails and although meant that they stayed weak, I became very funny about always having them painted. I definitely don't feel 'finished' unless I have my nails done and I stand by the fact that even if you are not wearing make up, or have quickly taken a trip to Tesco's in your trackies (god forbid!) good painted nails always make up for this.
Anyway, apart from me rabbling on what I wanted to get at was that due to working all of last week I had to do a little bit of personal nail DIY and here are the photos to show you. Nail art is big right now, so I layered all three of these to create a dusky pink glitz. See below for the links incase you fancy a treat. This will do until I get to a salon tomorrow to have my first Shellac Gel Polish manicure! ( I will post photos of that soon.)

Here goes....

Hey guys!
So this is my first post. I have had a few blogs in the past but nothing that I have kept up with. I guess I wasn't really focused and didn't have a specific direction I wanted to go in, but since getting a place at LCF on the Fashion design development course starting September 2013, I figured that I better get myself into gear! This blog, Lady Lipstick will be about Fashion, make up, beauty and all things that go with that, anything that inspires me or that I want to document.
Please follow me and keep updated by signing up to get a notification via email when I post on my blog, I would really appreciate your feedback and support!
Oh and if you are wondering why 'Lady Lipstick', I have a love, and crazy collection of lipsticks, and wanted a name that would stick in your head!
