So back in March I got asked by Lulu Hayes to create some illustrations for her collection and her website. I jumped at the idea. When choosing my course at uni I was so close to picking Fashion Illustration but figured that design would give me more scope and that after finishing my degree I would be able to decide then what avenue I wanted to go down within fashion. See my illustrations on her website, I'd love to know what you think. Its the first time I have worked with someone creatively and to get a finished result which you are both happy with has been a challenging and rewarding experience. It is exciting to know that people will be able to see them online every time they visit the website!

A little bit about Lulu Hayes; she first started officially in 2013, creating her first collection of ready to wear luxury street wear featuring beautiful, vibrant prints. Since then her Paris print t shirt and dress has been seen on Caggie Dunlop, and her clothing is now on sale on ISWAI and from the TUK Store.

Her SS14 collection has even more to offer; more vibrant colours and prints, easy to wear shirts, tops and camis which are perfect for the summer dressed up or with a casual pear of skinny jeans. Please visit the Truimph UK Women in the making to vote for Lulu Hayes (find link under photo) as it would mean the world to her, and I certainly think we are going to see a lot more from her in the coming seasons.

Thank you Lucy for letting me get involved with your fabulous and exciting brand.

Find her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and follow her to keep up to date with the new collection!

Leigh Viner

I guess I am feeling inspired. I am a month into my university course at LCF and getting back into drawing, researching, using a sewing machine more than once a month and generally doing something a little exciting is good.

I came across the work of Leigh Viner just over a year ago, maybe slightly longer. For me, my favourite thing to do is to draw, and drawing people is even better. I think thats why my love of clothes, fashion and shopping along with this has made me want to study fashion design ever since I can rememeber. I have vivid memories of being sat with my cousins at their dining room table designing dresses and drawing my own little stylised characters.

So anyway, besides the rambling, Leigh Viner has a way of capturing something so beautiful. The vivid colours and lines along with the soft shading and shadows makes her work turn from being super graphic into something much more softer. If she ever wanted to do a picture of me I most certainly wouldn't turn it down.

Follow her on instagram @leighviner and check out more of her work there, or alternatively her blog at www.leighviner-blog.com. You may just become as obsessed with her work as I am.

Paper butterflies

Paper butterflies by me

In all honestly when I saw these deep frames on a trip around IKEA I knew I had to think of a way to use them. Perfect for birthdays, christmas of even for your own home.

The paper I bought from hobby craft as well as the butterfly cutter and voila- a beautiful little centre piece for your home.

I am going to start selling these, website is in the process ( I will let you know when it is ready and add the link below)  but thought I would show you them on here in the hope that it starts to get you guys in a creative mood. By all means let me know if you have any more ideas.
